Who We Are
AME Community Services, Inc. is a company committed to supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals, big or small. AME supports adults and children with intellectual disabilities in their preferred home, whether that be one of our community residential settings, their own home, apartment or their parent’s home. We tailor our services based on the individual’s preference for how they want or need to be supported to live their best life.
The founder and CEO Marty McGraw started AME in 1992 after nearly 20 years providing residential support for other organizations. He named the company after his 3 young daughters, Anna, Molly and Elizabeth. He is passionate about ensuring that the people AME supports are treated with the utmost dignity and respect and are given opportunities to make choices and be involved in the community.
Our agency provides services in neighborhood homes as well as in-home family support services. We currently have 20 community residential settings and support about 20 people through our in-home support services.
AME Community Services has experience in serving people with a variety of diagnosis, among them Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Down’s Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. AME specializes in providing services to people with Prader-Willi Syndrome. Ten of our homes are exclusively dedicated to serving people with Prader-Willi Syndrome. AME also has a home that is tailored to provide support for people on the Autism Spectrum.
AME Staff are skilled at providing person-centered supports to the people we serve. Our staff are trained to support challenging behaviors, meet medical needs and to foster a friendly and supportive living environment.
Our services are initiated through referrals from County Case Management and funded by the Home and Community Based Waiver Programs.
